Greatest Hits Radio have announced today that broadcaster Stephanie Hirst will be bringing her much loved ‘Spinnin’ format from Greatest Hits Radio 60s to the main station from Saturday 7th of March with a brand-new show – Spinnin’ the Decades.

This new show will celebrate a worldwide take on the Greatest Hits of the 70s, 80s and 90s, including a unique radio hour dedicated to taking live audience requests and playing them from the original 45 pressing, sourced in real time from Stephanie’s incredible personal vinyl library.

Alongside this, listeners can look forward to Stephanie sharing some rarities and hidden gems and enjoy her trademark encyclopaedic knowledge and huge passion for music as she plays the world’s biggest songs, from the world’s greatest decades.

This announcement comes following the recent news that America’s Greatest Hits with Paul Gambaccini will finish on Saturday 28th February, with Stephanie keen to echo the DNA of this much-loved Greatest Hits Radio show.

Stephanie Hirst said: ‘What an incredible honour it is to follow in the footsteps of one of my broadcasting heroes, Paul Gambaccini. I’m going to do my very best to produce a show that Paul – and more importantly his music-loving America’s Greatest Hits audience – will love. I’ll be playing songs that evoke memories, tell stories and truly reflect the huge variety of brilliant music that the 70s, 80s and 90s bought us around the world. I also can’t wait to share my passion for vinyl with listeners to Greatest Hits Radio.’
