Absolute Radio have announced today a new run of Sunday night music residencies, giving iconic musicians the space to tell the stories behind the songs.

The series, which starts on March 1st, will see a different artist host a month-long run, airing Sundays from 10pm–12am and then be available on demand via the Rayo app. First up will be The Clint Boon Show (pictured).

A returning to radio Clint Boon said: ‘I’m proper chuffed to be doing a run of Sunday night shows for Absolute Radio in March. I’ll be doing a two-hour show and sharing some of my favourite records of all time with you. It’s a real honour to be joining such a great station and to be sharing the stage with such a fantastic family of presenters and staff. Can’t wait to get “back on t’radio!’

KT Tunstall will take over in April followed by residencies from The Maccabees Felix White, Kasabian frontman Sergio Pizzorno and Kaiser Chief’s Ricky Wilson in May, June and July respectively.

Each host will be curating their own shows – from celebrating personal influences and uncovering hidden gems to deconstructing classic tracks – working alongside award-winning producer Nick Harris. The strand is designed to bring deeper context, personality and authority to Absolute Radio’s specialist output, while showcasing a broad range of genres and perspectives.

By giving these artists a full month of shows, we’re creating the space for them to go deeper – sharing their influences, their passions and the stories behind the records our listeners love. The new hosts join an established roster of artist broadcasters on the station, including Skin (Skunk Anansie), Tim Burgess (The Charlatans) and Louise Wener (Sleeper).
